A day in Milan

There’s ups and downs of getting the early bus. UP: getting to sleep on the bus so the trip seems to go faster. Down: getting on the wrong bus…Luckily the mistake was sorted with minutes to spare. 3 hours of sleep the previous night was not helping the situation, but we hit the road and even went in the right direction 😉  The bus ride was quite nice and didn’t feel like 7 hours and the scenery I saw on the way (when I was awake) was amazing, it’s one reason I prefer to take the bus, even if it does take longer. We arrived in Milan at 1pm and after getting to the hostel we had a mini rest before hitting the streets. Milan is another beautiful European city with the most manicured men I’ve ever seen and gelato shops every few meters among some beautiful architecture. We arrived at the city centre (Duomo) and holy crap, you come up from the metro and BAM!! amazing buildings in a huge open square. It was nuts, and if you want to spend a lot of money on stupid fashiony stuff then this is a great spot for it. Feeling the need for pizza that didn’t cost the earth we wandered the streets away from the centre and I ate a nice slice of pepperoni pizza and then we chilled for a drink, walk drink repeat, but just be careful, sometimes when you buy a drink they will bring out “Tapas” but if you eat it you have to pay. There’s other confusing things when it comes to the cost of things so just be aware. Found a nice restaurant to do the pizza thing properly (yum) and after I had a pee in the ladies toilet we left. I was a quick but eventful day. It’s a beautiful city and I think I’ll head back to Italy someday to check out Rome and a few other places.IMG_0431IMG_0432IMG_0433IMG_0434IMG_0473

I loved the architecture of Milan. Found the Milanese people a bit snooty, but you can forgive them that because their gelati is devine. Happy travelling 🙂
